The Nursing and Allied Health Courses Department of St. Anthony College is headed by Dean Dr. Luzviminda C. CardiƱo with compassionate and therapeutic Clinical Instructors namely Josephine M. Mariano MAN, Grenchen Faith D. Dayao MAN, Jamie Christia G. Reyes RN, Mylene Belleza MAN, Louise B. Hernandez MAN, Angelita A. Guban MAN , & Anita Francisco RM.

The said department has various activities to develop and enhance the knowledge, skills , and attitude of the BSN and Midwifery students. Activities such as Capping, Pinning and Candlelighting Ceremony for BSn & Midwifery II students , Department Outreach Program, Clinical Duty Orientation, Case Presentation etc.. The department is always supported by the administration headed by Dr. Jamesy I. Reyes, faculty & staff to help & assist the students to finish the course with confidence, dedication, and caring attitude particularly in dealing with patients & clients in their respective clinical area. Moreover, these young future nurses and midwives are competent and equipped with clinical knowledge for delivering evidence-based care. Such care and competence are given with empathy, respect, and dignity.

The overall intent of the Nursing and Allied Health program is to provide quality education to transform the life of the student taking the program.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN, BScN) also known in some countries as a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) or Bachelor of Science (BS) with a Major in Nursing is an academic degree in the science and principles of nursing, granted by an accredited tertiary education provider. The course of study is typically three or four years.

The bachelor’s degree prepares nurses for a wide variety of professional roles and graduate study. Course work includes nursing science, research, leadership, and related sciences that inform the practice of nursing. It also provides the student with general education in math, humanities and social sciences. An undergraduate degree affords opportunities for greater career advancement and higher salary options. It is often a prerequisite for teaching, administrative, consulting and research roles.

Diploma in Midwifery

It is a two-year program consisting of general education and professional courses which prepare students for entry-level midwifery competencies. This 2-year direct entry program includes Clinical Practicum in Foundations of Midwifery, Normal Obstetrics and Care of the Newborn, Introduction to High Risk Obstetrics, Basic Care of Infants and Feeding, Basic Family Planning, Primary Health Care and Midwifery Ethics, Law and Practice. Graduates of the program are qualified to take the government licensure examination
